新年(旧正月)おめでとう!(Happy Chinese New Year)

Finally, it's the New Year for the Chinese community. On this day, we will visit relatives' house and exchange mandarin oranges. Also, like Japan's "Otoshi-dama", the children will get to receive money from adults. The money is put into a red-coloured envelope. As known as Hongbao (red packet) in Chinese language.

In the above picture, the word on the left is "年年有余(Nian Nian You Yu)", the right is "万事如意(Wan Shi Ru Yi)". The meaning for "Nian Nian You Yu" is that when every year ends, there are a lot of things that are left to prepare for the next year. "Wan Shi Ru Yi" means that everything comes to your way.

Happy New Year, everyone!
