コンピューター夢物語 (Dreams of computers)

  人間はコンピューター夢物語を少しずつを実現して来た。それはいいかどうか、様々な理論がある。携帯電話がない昔はかける人が電話番号を覚えなければならなかった。それで、記憶力がよくなり、昔の人は現代の人より記憶力がずっとよかった。しかし、便利さで言うと、携帯電話のほうがよい。電話と違って、緊急事態のときに、携帯電話はどこでも人にかけられる。

(Humans came to realize dreams of computer bit by bit. Whether that is good or not, there are various theories. In the past where there was no mobile phone, people have to remember the phone numbers. Because of that, their memory became good, people in the past had much good memory when compared to the people of this generation.)

  医療の面においては、驚くべき改善が多い。色んな病気が治るようになって、平均寿命が上がっている。しかし、我々は神の領域に踏み込んで、役に立つことであればいいのだが、問題が出た際、困るだろう。昔の人はガンになっても、知らないまま、死んでしまった。ガンは現在でも治らない病気だが、早期に発見された場合、治療すれば、治る可能性は高くなる。また人工受精の導入で、代理母の存在、問題が起きている。結局、かわいそうなのは大切な現代の子供たちだ。誰の子供か、今でも決められない。それだけではなく、周りの人達も精神的なストレスを受ける。

(In the aspect of medical, there are many surprising improvements. As many illnesses can be cured, the life expectancy is going up. However, stepping into the God’s territory, it is good if it is of beneficial use, when problems appear, isn’t it something to worry about. The people in the past, even if they had cancer, they died without knowing. Although cancer cannot be cured in today’s context, if it was found early, with treatment, the possibility of curing becomes higher. Again with the introduction of artificial insemination and the existence of surrogate mothers, problems are surfacing. In the end, the pitiful people are the valuable children of this generation. To whom does the child belongs to, till now, it still cannot be decided. Furthermore, the related people around will experience mental stress.)

  そして、インターネットによって、いろいろなものが手に入る。本はますます小さいコンピューターに取って代われて、本が歴史になると考えられる。本が大好きな人はコンピューターで読むことを強制される。もっと大変なのは音楽のアルバムやドラマなどを間単にコピーできることだ。アルバムを誰も買わなかったら、収入金が減る一方で、レコード会社は倒産し、歌手も仕事を失ってしまう。それよりもっと重大な問題がある。クレジットカードの導入し、買い物は簡単になったが、個人情報を盗まれる可能性が高くなったとよく言われる。

(And with the Internet, various things can be gathered. more and more books are replaced with small computers, it can be thought that books will become history. People who love books are forced to read with computers. A more serious problem would be easy copying of music albums and dramas. If no one buys the album, with the incomes falling, the recording companies will be shut down and singers will lose their jobs. There is an even more serious problem. With the introduction of credit cards, even though shopping is getting easier, it is often said that the possibility of personal information getting stolen is high.)

  現代の子供たちは情報を何でも早く見つけられるが、全部コンピューターに任せる態度はいいんだろうか。我々の行動は現代の子供たちに影響を与えるのに、何も考えずに進むなら、この世界はどうになるだろう。我々はコンピューターをどうするべきかともう一度考え直さなければならない。

(Although the children of this generation can speedily find any kind of information, is it really good for them to have attitudes of letting the computer do everything? In spite of influencing the children of this generation with our actions, if we continue to do it without thinking, what will the world become? We must once again rethink about what we should do about computers.)




  先生のコメント：人工受精はコンピューターとは関係ないかもしれません。コンピューターを使うことで、たくさんの問題がうまれましたね。これからも大変な問題がまだまだ生まれるでしょう。子ども達のためにも大人がしっかり考えないとだめですね。

(Teacher’s comments: Artificial insemination may not be related to computer. With the use of computers, many problems were born. Many more serious problems are going to be born, aren’t they. Adults indeed must think carefully for the sake of children.)
